The biomedical technology degree program consists of 126 credits and can be completed in as little as 3.5 years — a popular path for biomedical science majors seeking to enroll in a P.A. program in January rather than waiting until the following Fall. Classes in basic sciences, clinical sciences, and biomedical sciences make up 78 of these credits. You can use 21 elective credit hours to do an independent study project or conduct research with a faculty mentor.

Your first two years in the biomedical technology degree program will involve a combination of basic sciences, humanities and social sciences to help you develop as a well-rounded student before beginning the professional stage of the program.

Your third and fourth years will introduce you to specialized topics such as clinical microbiology, 生物化学, 免疫血液学和分子诊断学. Each of these courses will be supplemented with a lab in which you’ll get hands-on experience with the tools and devices used every day in biomedical technology jobs.
